Boston University College of Fine Arts, School of Visual Arts BFA Thesis Show
The idea for Spectacle came about after considering windows as our central imagery. Looking out a window is often a motif of the unknown, foreshadowing our transition into the “outside” world. It can also function as a lens or new way of viewing something (“through a window”).
Considering this idea of lenses, we landed on using the duality of the word “spectacle” as a central theme for the show. This visual identity was particularly unique since the show took place in two different Boston galleries. We ensured that way-finding, catalogs, and environmental text remained consistent throughout both locations.
